I recently visited the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis to see the Huang Yong Ping retrospective. The show was totally amazing. I took a ton of photos only some of which are included below. The one on the bottom right is his infamous Theater of the World which he has not successfully exhibited in the past because of its use of live insects. The turtle shaped case features scorpions, snakes, cockroaches, millipedes, crickets and spiders under a metal cage. The idea is to witness survival of the fittest darwinism in real time.
